The renowned horror writer Sandra Becerril joins the twenty-fourth edition of Macabro to present her latest novel, El carnaval diabólico (The Devil's Carnival). 

Chloe, a famous American horror writer, is invited by her lover Antún to an exclusive festival in Chiapas. But what begins as a promising trip soon turns into a terrifying nightmare. From the moment she arrives, she senses that something is wrong. Disturbing visions torment her, and the language barrier plunges her into isolation. However, the worst happens when the town, which initially celebrates her, is shaken by a series of brutal crimes. The victims resemble the killing style of the feared Iker, a serial killer lynched by the community. As the deaths mount, Chloe experiences terrifying hallucinations, unexplained physical changes, and now she is viewed with suspicion.
