Macabro Fich 2018 Call for Works is now online. The fest will celebrate next year 17 years.

For this edition Macabro is adding two new awards: Macabro Animation Award for animated shortfilms and the Macabro Press Award. Macabro will also give the stablished awards: Macabro for International Horror Long Feature Film, Macabro Sapphire Award for Latin American Horror Long Feature Film, Macabro Jade Award for Best Mexican Short Film, Macabro Onix Award for Best international Short Film, Macabro Ghost Award for Best Picture selected by the Macabro Audience.

Submission will be avaliable from November 30, 2017 on Filmfreeway.com with closing deadlinte on March 31st, 2018. The seventeenth edition of Macabro will take place in August, 2018 in it’s traditional venues in Mexico City.

Macabro is the first genre film festival in Mexico and the second in Latin America. Based since 2002 in Mexico City as an event for the exhibition of independent new horror films as well as classic and cult movies.

For ten days in August, the festival brings to Mexico City a celebration of horror films in a succesful event that involves media, social and film industry through film exhibitions, Q&A sessions with guests, master classes, music, retrospectives, hommages, parties with filmmakers and audience, music and trips to cool and turistic venues in the City.
Macabro reaches about 40,000 people in live venues and more than a million on social network.
