RULES AND CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE “CREEPY VAN FILMS – MACABRO FICH” SCREENPLAY CONTEST

CREEPY VAN FILMS AND MACABRO FICH invite writers and screenwriters to take part in the contest with stories that explore the horror genre, related genres, and subgenres, as part of its call for horror and related-genre screenplays (the “Contest”), which shall be governed by these rules and conditions (the “Rules”). The mere act of taking part in the Contest implies the Participants' acceptance of these Rules (as defined below).

1. TERM & TERRITORY The Contest will be valid throughout the territory of Mexico (the “Territory”), and the term will begin on the day the call is published and will close on March 31, 2025 (the “Term”). Notwithstanding the foregoing, Creepy Van Films and Macabro Fich may extend the Term for as long as they see fit, and will inform Participants accordingly when the time comes.

These Rules will be communicated by Creepy Van Films and Macabro Fich through the site www.macabro.mx and the social media accounts of Creepy Van Films and Macabro Fich.

2. PARTICIPANTS Mexican citizens or foreigners with two (2) years of proven residency in Mexico, over eighteen (18) years of age, who own screenplays in their final draft, on any subject, that conform to the narrative characteristics of the horror, terror, fantasy, and science fiction genres, may take part in the Contest (the “Participants”).

3. REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION a. All screenplays must be original and must not be entered in similar contests (the “Screenplays”). b. The Screenplays must have a minimum running time of eighty (80) minutes and a maximum of one hundred twenty (120) minutes, including credits. c. Participants must be the sole rights holders of the Screenplays.

4. HOW TO ENTER a. Creepy Van Films and Macabro Fich will organize the Contest among all Participants. Participants must submit – through concursomacabro@creepyvanfilms.com – the Screenplays that meet all the requirements set out in these Rules. The submitted Screenplays will be evaluated by a jury of international standing and broad recognition in the genre. The Screenplays will take part in a pitching session to be held at the next edition of Macabro FICH in 2025. After the pitching sessions, the international jury will select the three (3) winning Screenplays of the Contest. b. Participants with questions and/or requests for information regarding the call, as well as the selection process for entrants, the jury, and its results, must submit them in writing to the official email: concursomacabro@creepyvanfilms.com No request submitted through any other channel will be answered. c. Any cases not covered by this call will be resolved by the Contest organization.

5. DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED TO REGISTER A SCREENPLAY a. Complete the information requested on the registration form. b. The author's film biography. c. Registration number with the Instituto Nacional del Derecho de Autor (INDAUTOR). d. Official identification of the Screenplay's author. e. A short synopsis of the story, no more than six (6) lines long, titled with the project's name. f. A developed synopsis of the story, no more than one (1) page long, titled with the project's name. g. The screenplay, in its final draft, a minimum of eighty (80) pages and a maximum of one hundred twenty (120) pages, in Final Draft format and sent as a PDF.

6. NOTIFICATION OF WINNING PARTICIPANTS Creepy Van Films and Macabro Fich will contact the Participants – via concursomacabro@creepyvanfilms.com – to inform them that they have won the Contest.

7. PRIZES a. Creepy Van Films will award three (3) prizes consisting of (the “Prizes”):

1. First place: three thousand US dollars (3,000 USD). 2. Second place: two thousand US dollars (2,000 USD) 3. Third place: one thousand US dollars (1,000 USD).

b. The Prizes will be awarded within 30 days after the winning Participants are notified. c. The Participant whose Screenplay wins first place will sign an exclusive representation agreement with Creepy Van Films for its potential production. It is hereby noted that, should Creepy Van Films or any third party designated by Creepy Van Films produce content based on the winning Screenplay, the Participant must assign one hundred percent (100%) of the rights to the Screenplay and, in exchange, will receive an amount equivalent to what Creepy Van Films normally pays for similar material from similar sources, with that amount offset against the sum received through this Contest. d. The Contest's winning Participants expressly authorize their Screenplays to become part of the Contest's archive and to be made available for review by any third party. e. The winning Screenplays will be awarded a diploma for their participation in the Contest

8. ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES a. Participants' copyright will be respected at all times. b. Questions and comments will be handled at the email: concursomacabro@creepyvanfilms.com

9. PERSONAL DATA Creepy Van Films and Macabro Fich will be responsible for the processing and security of the data provided by the Participants (the “Personal Data”). The Personal Data will be used in compliance with applicable law and under the conditions stated here. Participants, as owners of the Personal Data, may easily and free of charge access, rectify, update, and/or delete the Personal Data provided to Creepy Van Films and Macabro Fich at any time. To access, rectify, update, and/or delete the Personal Data, Participants must reliably notify Creepy Van Films and Macabro Fich at the following address: concursomacabro@creepyvanfilms.com. Likewise, by providing their Personal Data to Creepy Van Films and Macabro Fich, Participants accept being contacted through any means of communication that currently exists or that may be implemented in the future, including phone calls and/or email. Participants who provide their Personal Data expressly authorize Creepy Van Films and Macabro Fich and/or whomever it designates to use the data provided solely for the purposes set out here. The Participant expressly authorizes Creepy Van Films and Macabro Fich so that all of the data provided may be used by Creepy Van Films and Macabro Fich to be stored in their databases.

Creepy Van Films and Macabro Fich will not sell or transfer the Personal Data without the Participants' authorization. Creepy Van Films and Macabro Fich may disclose the Personal Data without the Participants' consent: (i) when required by law or by a court order authorizing it; (ii) to cooperate with government authorities in judicial investigations; (iii) to enforce or protect the intellectual property or rights of Creepy Van Films and/or Macabro Fich; and (iv) to be able to fulfill any obligations and/or commitments and/or duties directly or indirectly related to the Contest.

10. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Participants acknowledge that the Screenplays submitted to this Contest must be duly registered with the Instituto Nacional del Derecho de Autor (INDAUTOR). Should Participants fail to meet this requirement, they release Creepy Van Films and Macabro Fich from any damage, loss, and/or misappropriation that the Screenplay may suffer.

11. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION These Rules shall be interpreted and construed in accordance with the laws of Mexico. For any judicial matter that may arise from the holding of the Contest, the parties shall submit to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Mexico City, waiving any other jurisdiction that might otherwise apply.
