#MacabroNocturno: Classic Macabro Marathon

To celebrate our favorite dates, Halloween and Day of the Dead, Macabro pulls 3 classics from three horror masters out of its trunk: Brian Yuzna, Larry Cohen, and our guest of honor from the festival's last edition, Mick Garris. Gore, grand guignol, madness, a blood-thirsty baby, and a town threatened by a family of energy vampires — could you ask for more?
18:00 The Dentist | Dir. Brian Yuzna | USA | 1996 | 92 min.
Doctor Alan is an eccentric dentist who is driven to madness when his wife is unfaithful to him. Seeking revenge, he will look for the most atrocious way to get rid of her, even when his patients get in his way.

20:00 It’s Alive! | Dir. Larry Cohen | USA | 1974 | 91 min.
After a difficult pregnancy, Lenore Davis gives birth to a monstrous baby with a killer instinct that immediately escapes from the hospital. Frank, Lenore's husband, will launch an investigation together with Lieutenant Perkins to find the newborn and learn the truth behind this terrifying birth.

20:45 Sleepwalkers |Dir. Mick Garris.|USA | 1992 | 91 min
Mary and Charles Brady are a mother-and-son pair who have just arrived in a small town in Indiana, United States. Both are "Sleepwalkers," perhaps the last two of a race of cat-creatures that drain the life force of young virgins to stay alive. Shortly after arriving at their new home, hunger begins to take hold of Mary, so Charles must race against time to save his mother from starvation.

Macabro Nocturno is a project by #MacabroFICH in partnership with La Casa del Cine Mx, presenting, in a monthly screening since February 2015, part of the festival's film archive since its founding in 2002.
