Line-up

Sobre ruedas | Dir. Agustín Tapia | Mexico | 2016 | 8 min. *The director will be in attendance* Genaro walks down a street dragging a wheeled suitcase. Little by little, he begins to grow unsettled by his partner's voice tormenting him with reproaches. Furious, he throws the suitcase down some stairs… revealing its true cargo.

El Eslabón Podrido | Dir: Valentín Javier Diment | Argentina | 2015 | 75 min. *Winner of the Audience Award at Sitges Film Festival 2015* Deep in the forest lies El Escondido, a small, almost medieval town lost in time. Raulo, a fifty-year-old woodcutter with an intellectual disability, lives there with Erilia, his mother, a senile witch healer, and Roberta, his sister, the town prostitute. Sensing that death is near, Erilia warns her daughter that if she sleeps with every man in the town, she will die. The problem is she is just one man away from bringing about the tragedy.
Macabro Nocturno is a project of #MacabroFICH (abre en nueva pestaña) in partnership with La Casa del Cine Mx (abre en nueva pestaña) which has been presenting part of the festival's film archive since its founding in 2002, every last Saturday of the month since February 2015.
