#MacabroNocturno presents: Stories of Love, Sex, and Horror
In the month of sexual diversity, Macabro presents a lineup with two films that explore love and sexuality through difference. Styria presents a Gothic-atmosphere story based on Carmilla, one of the most forward-thinking 19th-century novels about lesbian sexuality, and Pyotr495, a short film set in contemporary Russia where repression of the LGBT community is the norm.

Synopsis: Lara and her father cross the Iron Curtain to reach a castle in the small town of Styria, Hungary. Lara witnesses a car accident and meets Carmilla, the sole survivor. The two begin an intense, chaotic friendship, and their relationship starts to have effects on the entire town of Styria: crops wither, animals die, and women begin to lose their minds.

Set in present-day Moscow, Pyotr, a 16-year-old boy, falls into the trap of an ultranationalist group known for its violent actions against the LGBT movement in Russia. But the attackers didn't count on the secret weapon Pyotr has ready for them.
Macabro Nocturno is a project by #MacabroFICH in partnership with La Casa del Cine Mx, presenting part of the festival's film archive, dating back to its founding in 2002, in a monthly screening since February 2015.
