#MacabroNocturno presents: Lilith's Awakening
Macabro closes out the month dedicated to women with this Brazilian production directed by Monica Demes. Lilith's Awekining, or El despertar de Lilith, is a dark film that explores the archetype of the mythical figure of Lilith through vampirism, with an experimental, dreamlike aesthetic.

Lucy is sexually oppressed due to her cold, emotionless marriage. Her best moments happen at night, when she dreams of a woman who lurks around her house, who will gradually awaken Lucy's darker side.
Lilith's Awakening was part of the official Latin American selection for Best International Horror Film at Macabro's previous edition.
Macabro Nocturno is a project by #MacabroFICH in partnership with La Casa del Cine Mx that has presented, in a monthly screening since February 2015, part of the festival's film archive dating back to its founding in 2002.
