Special screening commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Rodolfo Guzmán “El Santo”

After a bout in which Santo and the Rebelde Rojo defeat a pair of Italian wrestlers, a group of adventurers proposes that Santo join an archaeological expedition to explore Aztec ruins. Once at the ruins, they find the tomb of a priest who was buried alive and who bears a horrible curse. From that moment on, the priest's mummy begins killing the expedition's members one by one. “In this film, producer Guillermo Calderón wanted to bring together two of the characters that had brought him the greatest success during the 1960s. El Santo and La Momia Azteca — now Maya — promised an archaeological adventure with a dash of horror. Consider that by this point El Santo was sometimes filming up to 6 films a year, which would run in theaters for months, meaning audiences could see Santo in different adventures nonstop all year long in Mexico's movie theaters. Also by this time, La Momia Azteca had successfully concluded its trilogy and was being plagiarized in the United States. In a combination that promised to be explosive, Santo joins an archaeological expedition in the Maya jungle in search of an ancient city. The action begins when they desecrate the tomb of a priest who had been buried alive. In the pure style of the films of La Momia Azteca, this film also features a big-production flashback, likewise filmed in Teotihuacán.
