The #MacabroCoven 2022 call for entries is now online!

Macabro: Mexico City International Horror Film Festival (MACABRO FICH), in collaboration with Facultad de Cine, LCI Seguros, Jacalito Films, Tannhäuser Film Tank, Coven FX, Verne Cinema, TANU Distribución, and Caostica, is opening its second call for co-production of horror short films directed by women and the first for post-production of horror short films directed by women. An activity of Macabro Coven.

All Mexican and foreign women filmmakers residing in national territory may participate. Registration will be open starting from the date this call is published and will close on June 30, 2022. Submitted projects may have any theme, provided they follow the narrative and stylistic characteristics of the horror/terror and/or fantasy genre.

The co-production prize includes:

1.- Financial support of $10,000.00 (ten thousand pesos 00/100). 1 camera with lens, 1 sound kit, and 1 lighting kit for three days, provided by Facultad de Cine.

2.- Catering for three days provided by Diablo Panzón and Tannhäuser Film Tank.

3.- A 50% discount on the cost of film insurance from LCI Seguros.

4.- Makeup and simple prosthetics design by Coven FX.

5.- Image post-production (color correction and deliverables) by Jacalito Cine Post.

6.- Screenplay and production advising from Verne Cinema.

7.- Short film advising and distribution in Argentina from Tanu Distribución.

8.- Distribution in Spain from Caostica.

9.- Distribution in Mexico from Macabro Factory (Macabro FICH).

The post-production prize includes:

1. Image post-production (color correction and deliverables) by Jacalito Cine Post.

2. Distribution in Mexico from Macabro Factory (Macabro FICH).

The winning projects will be announced as part of Macabro Fich 2022 activities in August through www.macabro.mx and the social media accounts of Macabro FICH and Macabro Coven.
