Call for Entries: Macabro XXI
We begin the journey toward our twenty-first anniversary with the publication of the competition call for entries for the 2022 edition of Macabro: Festival Internacional de Cine de Horror de la Ciudad de México, which will take place in August 2022. The Macabro XXI celebration will take place under a hybrid model: in-person screenings, activities at physical venues, streaming, and online activities.
This year, Macabro is adding a new competition category: Largometraje Dark Fantasy & SciFi, which will seek to reward films that fall within science fiction and dark fantasy.
In addition to this new category, the traditional categories remain:

Bite-sized horror: The Macabro FICH 2026 short film selection
From August 12 to 23, the Mexican capital will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Mexico City International Horror Film Festival, MACABRO. As with every edition, one of the most anticipated selections is the short films, which this year features over 60 national and international projects.
