Macabro XXI Call for Works!
We begin our journey to our twenty-first anniversary with the launch of the 2022 official selection call for works for Macabro: Mexico City International Horror Film Festival, which will take place in August 2022. The celebration will have a hybrid model: in-person activities and a showcase with streaming and online activities.
This year Macabro opens a new category: Dark Fantasy & Sci-Fi Feature Film, which will award science fiction and dark fantasy movies.
We also introduce our traditional categories:

MACABRO FICH PRESENTS THE OFFICIAL PROGRAMMING FOR THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY
Establishing itself as the pioneering festival for the promotion of horror and fantasy cinema in Mexico, the Mexico City International Horror Film Festival, MACABRO, presents the activities celebrating the 25th anniversary of the event, which will take place from August 12 to 23 of this year across 20 physical venues and one digital venue.

Bite-sized horror: The Macabro FICH 2026 short film selection
From August 12 to 23, the Mexican capital will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Mexico City International Horror Film Festival, MACABRO. As with every edition, one of the most anticipated selections is the short films, which this year features over 60 national and international projects.
