#FuncionesMacabras: We're heading to Aurora Horror in Guanajuato

As it does every year, Macabro travels to the city of Guanajuato to visit its sister festival, Aurora, in a collaboration between two entities of darkness, specializing in opening the door and proudly showing on the big screen the many manifestations of the thrilling horror genre.

This year, Macabro will give a taste of its previous edition's lineup (No. XVI) with a short-film programme coming straight from the sewers of the Basque Country, courtesy of another demonic entity, the Caostica festival.

Straight from Argentina comes El muerto cuenta su historia, a feature film representative of Latin American genre cinema, directed by Fabián Forte, one of the genre's pioneers in his home country and winner of the Silver Macabro award for best direction in the Latin American competition of the festival's XVI edition.

Macabro has distinguished itself among similar festivals as one of the most influential of its kind, a pioneer in its category, and true to its original mission of showcasing, rescuing, and promoting the very best of independent horror cinema nationally and internationally.
