Carnaval Macabro Is Here!

August is Macabro's month. 2022 was the year of the macabre dystopia, 2023 the year of the rebirth of the greatest monster, Macabro. From August 15 to 27, Macabro returns with a pagan carnival that, as always, promises a lineup made up of the best independent contemporary genre cinema, both national and international. This year's poster, Carnaval Macabro, is the work of Diego Álvarez and Roxana Ruíz, the duo that has traditionally created the image for each festival since 2007. Inspired by the Venetian carnival, secret societies, and the renaissance, Macabro connects the classics with the new blood of horror and fantasy, looking to the future with enthusiasm and renewed energy.
The party is about to begin — bring your mask and join the Carnaval Macabro.
