The Children and the Devil

Many children have devoted their lives to following in the footsteps of the Evil One, whether voluntarily or involuntarily.

In 1973, Linda Blair played the now-famous Reagan in the 1973 film “El Exorcista” (The Exorcist) based on the original story by William Peter Blatty

Later would come “La Profecía” (The Omen) a trilogy that began in 1976 and tells the story of the boy Demian, who is none other than the son of the devil.

Another film about children bound to the devil is “El Bebé de Rosemary” (Rosemary’s Baby) directed by Roman Polanski, in which a very young Mia Farrow carries in her womb a baby fathered by the devil himself. As an additional fact, it's worth mentioning that Antor Szandor LaVey, the black pope of the Church of Satan, plays the diabolical being who plants his seed in the young protagonist's womb.

Little Emily and her father buy a box at a garage sale, and the purchase changes their lives, as an evil spirit dwelling in the box slowly begins to manifest in the house and gradually takes possession of the girl. This story goes by the name of “Posesión Satánica” (“The Possession”) directed by Ole Bordenal and released in 2012.

In 2016, Mike Flanagan introduced us to the story of a widowed mother and her daughters who run a séance business; by mistake, they unwittingly invite a genuine demon into their home, which possesses the body of the youngest daughter, Doris Zander, and well… things get intense in “Ouija, El Origen del Mal” (Ouija, Origin of Evil)

And if we're talking about the relationship between children and demons, we have to mention the story of Janet Hodgson, a young girl who is possessed by Valak, in “El Conjuro 2” (The Conjuring 2”), directed by James Wan, with Ed and Lorraine Warren as the heroes of the film. By the way, this movie is also from 2016.
