Macabro opens its call for entries to celebrate 25 years

Mexico City, November 26, 2025.— Macabro: Mexico City International Horror Film Festival (Macabro FICH) announces the opening of its call for entries for the 2026 edition, marking the start of the road toward the landmark celebration of its 25th anniversary. The Macabro XXV edition will take place from August 13 to 23, 2026, at various venues throughout the capital. For this historic edition, Macabro reaffirms its commitment to championing contemporary horror cinema and homegrown filmmaking. For the second year in a row, the festival includes the Mexico Macabro category, which groups Mexican-produced feature films as a subcategory within Largometraje Iberoamericano de Horror. Entry in this category is free of charge, with the aim of continuing to strengthen the participation of new voices in the genre across the country.
