FANTASTIKA opens the 2026 call for project submissions

- A community created by producers, for producers

- A platform that in 2026 will connect 6 countries through 4 producer associations, 1 market, 2 festivals, and 3 labs
We are announcing the launch of the FANTASTIKA call for entries for projects in development, from which the finalists and semifinalists for the upcoming 2026 season will emerge, to be announced in February.
The subsequent Pitching Forum, scheduled for March, will mark the starting point for access to the web profiles of the selected projects, which will remain available on the online platform throughout the year, accessible to the accredited community as well as invited key players.

A platform that in 2026 will connect countries, talent, and businesses through 4 producer associations, 1 market, 2 festivals, and 3 labs
2026 will be a year of consolidation and expansion, thanks to the recent addition as co-organizers of the independent producer associations BRAVI - Brasil Audiovisual Independente and ASOPROD - Asociación de Productores y Realizadores de Cine del Uruguay. This expands the territorial reach of our actions, the potential number of projects received, and the community of producers and professionals we serve (more than 800 companies represented across all the associations that make up Fantastika).
It also strengthens our relationship with VENTANA SUR and its FANTASTIC! section, expands with HisteriaLab Costa Rica and its new second venue in the Dominican Republic, and maintains the fruitful relationship with the Festival de Sitges.
Also noteworthy is the intention to expand online programming through an annual agenda of debate, training, and themed-gathering activities, a strategy designed to keep building community.
—————————
FANTASTIKA is a community created by and for independent producers with the goal of fostering a network for sharing experience and knowledge, endorsing projects in development, organizing industry initiatives, and generating Ibero-American co-productions.
An initiative that responds to a clear need: we are living through a boom of talent, new voices, and opportunities in genre cinema within the Ibero-American space. A boom that demands solid, professional, and sustained spaces that support, showcase, and strengthen independent producers and their talent.
That's why, FANTASTIKA asserts itself as a common home. A place where the industry can meet, recognize itself, and collaborate. An active agent in strengthening and expanding the international market for independent Ibero-American genre cinema. Because co-production is not just a viability strategy, but a way to enrich stories, add perspectives, and multiply reach. To build community.
