Creepy Van Films Calls for Entries Open - Macabro

For the second consecutive year, Creepy Van Films and Macabro FICH are opening their feature-film screenplay call for entries for Mexican creators or foreign creators based in Mexico.
The first call for entries for vertical-format horror screenplays and related genres opens.

Macabro and production company Creepy Van Films are joining forces for the second consecutive year to launch the "Creepy Van Films" – Macabro feature-film screenplay call for entries, which will have a single winner.

Likewise, a call for entries is opening for short vertical-format horror screenplays and related genres.

The submitted screenplays will be evaluated by a jury of international standing with broad recognition in the genre. The screenplays will take part in a pitching session to be held at the next edition of Macabro FICH in 2026. After the pitching sessions, the international jury will select one winning screenplay from each contest.

Both calls for entries are open to Mexican or foreign writers and/or screenwriters who have lived in Mexico for more than two years. The application deadline is April 30, 2026.

During the 2025 edition of Macabro - Hotel Macabro-, three prizes were awarded for the first call for entries, which received more than 30 projects, among which the winners were:

Miguel Vilchis Serrano for Camazo
