#MacabroNocturno presents: Kuroneko

We start the year by presenting one of the great classics of Japanese fantasy cinema, a representative of the most stylized ghost cinema, which goes hand in hand with social criticism and an emphasis on the moral corruption of its characters.

Kuroneko | Director: Kaneto Shindô | Screenplay: Kaneto Shindô | 1968 - Japan - 99 min
Synopsis.- A woman and her daughter-in-law are raped and killed by samurai warriors during the civil war era in Japan. Some time later, the bodies of several of these warriors are found with their throats slashed. The authorities decide to call in a strong and determined hero to drive away what is evidently a ghost.
