The Macabro XXIV call for entries is now available

Macabro: the Mexico City International Horror Film Festival (Macabro FICH) opens its call for entries for the 2025 edition (Macabro XXIV).

We begin the journey toward our next edition, which will take place — as is now tradition — in August 2025. The Macabro XXIV celebration will take place entirely in person at various venues across Mexico City.

This year, Macabro introduces a few new features compared to previous years. Along with the traditional categories, Mexico Macabro is added, which will group feature films of Mexican production as a subcategory within Largometraje Iberoamericano de Horror. Entry into this subcategory is free of charge.

Likewise, this year DAIMON DISTRIBUCIÓN is joining us to award two prizes:

Daimon – Macabro de Distribución en cines de México. The three feature film categories take part, along with Mención Daimon – México Macabro which consists of distribution advisory services for feature films produced between 2023 and 2025.
