#News: Gigi Saul Guerrero Among the Latinx to Watch in 2019, According to Variety

Variety magazine announced this year's list of 10 Latinx to Watch, who will be honored at the Miami Film Festival as part of its annual celebration of the Latino community's rising stars. The activities include panel discussions and screenings.

We are delighted to see that this year's list includes a great friend of this festival, director and actress Gigi Saul Guerrero, originally from Mexico and based in Canada for several years now. "The Terror Doll" has made a name for herself by blending tex-mex style with gore in her films; she has visited Macabro on several occasions to present a collection of short films, as well as the successful first installment of the anthology “México Bárbaro,” in which she took part with her segment "Día de muertos."

Rounding out the list of honorees are: Isabela Moner (Dora the Explorer), Rosa Salazar (Alita: Battle Angel and “Bird Box”), Lila Avilés (producer, screenwriter, and director of “The Chambermaid”), Lali Esposito (singer, “The Accused”), Marcel Ruiz (“One Day at a Time” and “Breakthrough”), Jayro Bustamante (writer and producer of “Ixcanul,” “Tremors”), Daniel Zovatto (“Lady Bird,” and “Don’t Breathe”), Whindersson Nunes (YouTuber, “Party Crashers 2”)
